Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Gilbert's first hospital and
Arizona's newest Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) facility, opened
its doors in June 2006. Since then the hospital has undergone
tremendous growth, and continues to grow -- in both bed count and
service line offerings -- to meet the needs of Gilbert's expanding
residential base.
CHW has a long tradition of caring for people in the region
since establishing the first hospital in the state more than 100
years ago. Mercy Gilbert takes this proud heritage into the 21st
century as a state-of-the-art medical campus with a caring and
competent staff.
The four-story, acute-care hospital spans 60 acres, with an
additional 40 acres being built to house a medical office building
as well as research and laboratory facilities. The hospital has 182
private rooms with guest accommodations and four special care
nursery beds, with the capacity to expand to 400 beds over the next
five years.
Mercy Gilbert Medical Center has been recognized by its employees and peers,
